White Rock/South Surrey Community Notice

After March 2, 2018, the Ocean Park laboratory collection centre at 1673 128th Street, Surrey, is moving its services to the nearby Peace Arch Hospital laboratory and collection centre.

"The Peace Arch Hospital lab is a full service laboratory that is able to meet all testing needs,” says Dr. Sam Krikler, regional medical director of laboratory services within Fraser Health. “With the growing population surrounding Peace Arch Hospital and low use of the Ocean Park location, as well as the close proximity to other labs, it is the best use of public resources to move services to the Peach Arch Hospital lab.”

People who regularly attend the Ocean Park laboratory collection centre are being notified of this move and the nearby locations that are available. Those who have regularly visited the Ocean Park location will see the same familiar faces at the Peace Arch Hospital lab. Employees who rotated through the Ocean Park location will now be permanently located at the Peace Arch Lab following the move at the beginning of March.

Peace Arch Hospital is located at 15521 Russell Ave, White Rock. Two other LifeLab locations are within six kilometres of the Ocean Park centre, should local residents not wish to go to the Peace Arch Hospital location.

“We acknowledge that this will be a change for some local residents but we are confident that this move will improve the overall quality of laboratory services that we can provide for the community of White Rock,” says Krikler. “We look forward to continuing to support the community’s laboratory needs at Peace Arch Hospital.”
